Equidam sells two kinds of paid access. Current purchases buy access days for a one-time fee, and checkout states that there is no auto-renewal. Some older accounts are still on a legacy recurring plan, billed every month, every 6 months or every year, which keeps charging the saved payment method until it is cancelled. You can cancel a recurring plan yourself on the Billing page, or ask us in the chat when there is no button.
How can I tell if my plan renews automatically?
A plan renews automatically if the Billing page shows an Active subscription card. Open it with Go to billing on your dashboard's Latest Invoices card. The page is per company, so make sure the company you pay for is the active one.
On a recurring plan, the card lists:
Plan: the legacy plan name, for example Basic or Pro. These are older plan names, not the Advanced and Expert plans sold at checkout today.
Price: the amount per Month, 6 Months or Year.
Next charge on: the date the current period ends. The renewal payment is taken the day before this date.
The invoice history tab gives a second check. Renewal invoices show the plan name followed by "Plan". Access-day purchases are described in access days.
If the Billing page shows days left and no Next charge on: date, you are on access days.
How do I cancel a recurring plan?
Cancel at least 2 days before the Next charge on: date, because the payment is taken the day before that date.
Open the Billing page for the company with the recurring plan.
Click manage subscription on the Active subscription card, or open the manage tab.
Click Cancel subscription. A side panel opens and asks you to confirm.
Click Cancel subscription in the panel. The message "You have been unsubscribed successfully" appears.
The card title then changes to Subscription Scheduled for cancellation, and Next charge on: becomes Valid until:.
What happens after I cancel?
Cancelling stops future automatic charges. You keep access until the Valid until: date, the end of the period you already paid for.
Cancelling in the app does not trigger a refund. For a refund question, write to us in the chat.
The side panel notes that current pricing applies once you cancel.
Which emails do I get when I cancel?
You receive an email with the subject "Your Equidam Basic Plan has been cancelled" or "Your Equidam Pro Plan has been cancelled". It confirms the date your plan ends. A copy goes to Equidam.
What if there is no Cancel subscription button?
The button only appears while a legacy recurring plan is active and not yet cancelled. If you do not see it, check these cases:
You are on access days. They are sold as a one-time fee, so there is no recurring plan to cancel in the app.
You already cancelled. The card shows Subscription Scheduled for cancellation.
Another company in your organisation holds the plan. Switch to that company and open the Billing page again.
Your organisation has an Equidam licence. Licence accounts are invoiced directly by Equidam and the Billing page shows an Equidam Licence card instead. Use Contact us about your billing on that card.
If your bank statement shows a recurring Equidam charge and none of these explain it, write to us in the in-app chat. Include the company name and the date and amount of the charge.
Limits
Self-service cancelling is available only for legacy monthly, 6-month and yearly plans. Checkout states that access-day purchases do not auto-renew.
The renewal payment is taken the day before the Next charge on: date, using the payment method from the previous charge.
A cancellation applies to one company. Each company with a recurring plan is cancelled separately.
There is no button to undo a cancellation.
