When your paid access for a company ends, Equidam opens a status page headed WELCOME BACK, with a card showing your company name followed by Valuation Status. The page offers two choices. Extending access reopens the same company with everything you entered. Starting a new valuation creates a separate, empty company. Your data stays saved whichever you choose.
What is the difference between extending access and a new valuation?
Extending access unlocks the company you already worked on. Your questionnaire answers, financial projections and report history are still there, so you pick up where you left off and can generate new reports.
A new valuation is a different company, with no data copied from the current one. Use it to value another business, or to rebuild a valuation from scratch. The START NEW COMPANY VALUATION button, in the Value a new company card, opens a side panel called New company valuation, where you choose Standard Valuation or Benchmarked Valuation. If your organisation started on the free plan, the button skips this panel and opens the free plan onboarding for the new company. Paid access belongs to one company, so the new company needs its own paid access; it can also begin on the free plan.
Which option do I see: extend access or add access days?
The status card on the page tells you which purchase applies.
Expired means the company's valuation period has ended. The button is EXTEND VALUATION ACCESS, which buys a new valuation period for the same company.
No Access Days means the valuation period is still running but your access days are used up. The button is ADD ACCESS DAYS, which adds days without a new valuation fee, as long as the days fit inside the current period.
Both purchases are a one-time fee, with no subscription and no auto-renewal.
Will I lose my data if I don't extend?
No. Your company data stays stored when access ends, and you can extend at any time without losing information. A purchase only records a new access period for the company; it does not change the data you entered.
While you have no access, the status page still lists your Reports history with a Download link for each report you generated, and your Invoice history. You can also open Go to billing.
What happens if I miss the extension deadline?
Equidam does not delete a company because its access ended. The valuation stays frozen until you buy another access period. While it is frozen, opening the dashboard or other valuation pages takes you back to the status page. Your company list, billing, profile, organisation and Import Data pages stay open.
When you buy again, the new access starts on the day of the purchase. Access days count as consecutive calendar days from the start of the access period.
How often should I update my valuation?
We recommend updating your valuation every 9 to 12 months. Update it sooner after a significant change in your financials, business model or market conditions, and before you raise a new funding round. The valuation reflects the data you entered, so a valuation built on last year's numbers describes last year's company.
Limits
Paid access is per company. Buying access for one company does not unlock another.
Each valuation fee covers a valuation period of 360 days. The first 5 days of each period are not charged as access days.
Adding days while the period is open costs access days only. If you are expired, or the days you choose run past the end of the current period, checkout adds the fee for a new valuation period.
If you add days while access is still active, the new days start when your current access ends. You can do this from the Access Days card on the billing page with Add days.
If your organisation has a license, access to its companies comes from the license, not from per-company purchases, and the extend and add-days buttons do not apply.
Common questions
Where can I see when my access ends?
While the valuation period is open, the Access Days card on the billing page shows the access period dates and the number of days left.
Can I switch to another company while this one has no access?
Yes. When you have other companies, the status page shows a Your companies card. Select a company to switch to it, or use SEE FULL LIST. Each company is labelled "Active", "Expired - Needs renewal" or "Expired - Needs access days".
Can I delete a company I no longer need?
Yes however the process differs. If the company has never had access days, and only when you have more than one company you can delete it directly from the company list. The Delete company icon on the portfolio dashboard is blocked for any company that has had access days, expired ones included, in which case please contact us for deletion. See Deleting a company: what happens and why you cannot restore it.
