Report verification: the QR code and public verify page

Report verification adds a QR code and link to your report so readers can open the original on Equidam, compare their copy and re-download it.

Report verification adds a QR code and a unique Equidam-hosted link to your valuation report. Scanning the code or opening the link leads to a verify page that gives access to the original report through download buttons, so readers can compare it with the copy they received. You can turn verification on when you generate a report or later. While it is on, anyone with the link can open the full report, including its financials.

What does report verification show?

It shows the reader that the report came from Equidam and gives them the original to compare against. It does not certify a file on its own: the reader checks a copy by comparing it with the downloads on the verify page. It does not assess the valuation itself. The valuation reflects the data you entered.

How do I add a verification QR code when I generate a report?

Tick Add a verification QR code under Generate report on the Reports page, then generate as usual. A report generated this way carries verification in every format:

  • PDF: a QR code with the link next to the table of contents, plus a dedicated "Verify this report" page after the financial projections.

  • Excel: a Verification sheet at the front with a clickable link. There is no QR image in the Excel file.

  • Markdown: a "Verify This Report" section with the link.

How do I turn verification on or off for an existing report?

Use the switch under each report in the Reports page list. It reads Enable verification when off and Verification on when on. The switch only changes once the change is saved. If saving fails you see "Could not update verification. Please try again."

While verification is on, the row shows a QR preview with Download QR, which saves the code as a PNG image for slides or documents. It also shows the verification link with a Copy link button.

Turning verification off makes the link and QR code show "This link is no longer available" straight away, including for someone who already has the page open and then clicks a download. Turning it back on reuses the same link, so QR codes already printed in a PDF work again. Deleting a report also turns its verification off.

Why does my downloaded PDF not have a QR code?

Turning verification on for an existing report does not regenerate its files, so a PDF generated without verification never contains the QR code. The link still works: share it from the report row or use the image from Download QR. To get a PDF with the QR code printed in it, generate a new report with the checkbox ticked.

The Excel and Markdown files you download from the Reports page follow the same rule: they include the link only if verification was on at generation. Files downloaded from the verify page itself always include it.

What does the verify page show?

The verify page shows:

  • the company name

  • the average pre-money valuation and the low to high valuation range, as they were when the report was generated

  • the report date

  • Download PDF, plus Download Excel and Download Markdown when the report has the data for them

  • the QR code and the link as text

It does not show capital needed, equity offered or post-money valuation, although the full report behind the download buttons contains all of your financials. Visitors do not need an Equidam account.

If the report is still printing, the page says "This report is being prepared" with a Refresh button. If the link is wrong, verification is off, or the report was deleted, the page shows the same "This link is no longer available" message, so a visitor cannot tell which applies.

Limits

  • Report verification needs a paid plan. It is not available on the free plan.

  • Read-only members cannot generate reports or change verification on existing reports.

  • It is available for standard valuation reports only, not for uploaded or advisory reports.

  • The verify page asks search engines not to index it, but the link itself is the only protection.

  • Reports created before this feature have no stored summary, so their verify page offers the PDF only.

  • If a report fails to print, or is still not ready after 10 minutes, its verify page shows the "no longer available" message.

  • The verify page text is in English, whatever language the report is in.

Common questions

Is report verification the same as an interactive report link?

No. An interactive report link, created with Share Interactive Report, is a separate web version of the report with its own link password and link expiry settings. Verification has no password setting and is managed with its own switch.

Can I get a new link if an old one has spread too far?

Not from the app. Turning verification off and on again keeps the same link. Turn verification off to block all access through it.

Why does the verify page show a different valuation from my dashboard?

The verify page shows the figures stored when the report was generated. If you changed your inputs since then, your dashboard reflects the new data and the report does not.
