What the free valuation includes, and what it does not

A plain rundown of what you can do on Equidam's free plan, and where the upgrade line sits.

Written by Daniel

Equidam's free plan gives you a first, on-screen estimate of your startup's value. There's no credit card required and no expiry date, so you can work through it at your own pace before deciding whether to upgrade.

What's included

  • The full five-method valuation engine, covering both your business fundamentals and investor-return expectations

  • An on-screen valuation range you can revisit and update at any time

  • Multiple scenarios, so you can model different assumptions about your company side by side

  • Editing your questionnaire and financials as your numbers change, see How the 10 Question Valuation Estimate Works for how the estimate is built

  • A first look at comparables: three similar funding rounds appear unlocked on your dashboard, with the rest shown but locked

  • Saving your progress to an account and inviting teammates to collaborate on the valuation with you

What's not included

A few parts of the platform sit behind the paid plans:

  • Report download. You can see your valuation in the app, but generating a PDF, Excel, or Markdown report needs an upgrade.

  • Full benchmarks. Beyond the three unlocked comparable rounds, the rest of the benchmarking data, valuation, revenue, and EBITDA comparisons against similar companies, stays locked.

  • Sensitivity analysis. You'll see the layout of the sensitivity grid, but the numbers themselves are hidden until you upgrade.

  • Editing Advanced Settings. You can browse the method weights, scorecard and checklist criteria, and DCF assumptions behind your valuation, but changing them is a paid feature.

  • A second company. The free plan covers one company. If your account has already purchased a paid package, adding another company follows the paid setup rather than starting free again.

None of this data disappears if you upgrade later. Your questionnaire, financials, and scenarios carry over, so the free plan is a genuine starting point, not a locked demo.
